Audrey Wichert to coordinate Youth Gathering 2025

MC Canada’s youth gathering at Conrad Grebel University College, Waterloo, ON

Mennonite Church Canada is thrilled to announce Audrey Wichert as the coordinator for the MC Canada Nationwide Youth Gathering scheduled for July 2-5, 2025 at Conrad Grebel University College in Waterloo, ON.

woman smiling“I am excited to embark on this journey with our youth,” says Audrey. “I believe the youth are the heartbeat of our church, and this gathering will be a powerful opportunity for them to connect deeply with each other and with God.”

Audrey Wichert brings over 30 years of experience working with children and youth in church settings. Currently leading the youth and children’s ministry team at Toronto United Mennonite Church, Audrey hails from southern Alberta, where she still cherishes the vast skies and coulees of the prairies. Her passion lies in connecting with kids, teenagers, and young adults, creating inclusive spaces where everyone can gather, support one another and thrive.

“Audrey’s passion for youth and the church, alongside her many years of experience in youth ministry make her a wonderful fit for this important part of MC Canada Gathering 2025,” says Ann L. Schultz, MCEC Executive Team Leader. “She is a person committed to bringing creativity and collaboration to the planning process, two very important attributes to have when planning a youth gathering. We are happy to have Audrey share her gifts with the nationwide church!”

The youth gathering holds a special place in Mennonite Church Canada’s tradition, offering youth aged 12-18 from across the country a time of learning, worship, fun and service. This year’s Youth Gathering will match the energy and excitement of Amplify (2022), Shake (2019), and Fat Calf (2013).

"Youth Leaders, mark your calendars and start your own preparations as we anticipate gathering in Waterloo,” Audrey adds. Congregations can expect more information soon, including details on the theme, costs, and other important logistics to assist youth groups in planning their attendance.
