MC Canada welcomes new Communications Coordinator

Mennonite Church Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of Mackenzie Nicolle as its new Communications Coordinator, effective immediately.

Mackenzie brings a rich background in communications, community development, and faith-based leadership. A graduate of Canadian Mennonite University (CMU), she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences with minors in Communications and Media, and Biblical and Theological Studies. Her work has consistently focused on helping organizations articulate their identity, values, and mission with clarity and creativity.

“Mackenzie’s deep roots in the Mennonite community and her passion for purpose-driven communication make her an ideal fit for this role,” said Al Rempel, Associate Executive Minister. “Her experience in storytelling, strategic planning, and inclusive programming will help us strengthen our national voice and connect more deeply with congregations and Regional Churches across Canada.”

Previously, Mackenzie served as Residence Director at CMU, where she led initiatives that fostered inclusion, safety, and belonging. She also worked with the Lake Winnipeg Foundation and Camps with Meaning, crafting digital and print materials that invited people to connect around shared values. Her work has spanned media formats—from writing devotionals for Rejoice!, to producing thoughtful audio documentaries, and co-hosting radio programs.

“I am honoured to join Mennonite Church Canada in this capacity,” said Nicolle. “I believe communication is an act of hospitality—creating space for people to see themselves as part of a larger story. I look forward to helping tell that story faithfully and creatively.”

Mackenzie’s appointment reflects Mennonite Church Canada’s ongoing commitment to missional engagement, intercultural inclusion, and Christ-centred storytelling.
