Associated organizations for MC Canada PIN

The following organizations offer resources and connections in relation to the work of Mennonite Church Canada Palestine Israel Network.

Mennonite Central Committee has worked in Israel and Palestine since 1949, beginning with refugee relief work and expanding to include education, develop, and peace education work. Over the decades MCC has developed solid partnerships with Israeli and Palestinian groups working for peace and justice. In 2017 it launched its Cry for Home public engagement campaign to highlight the call from their partners to be more active in advocacy for human rights and adherence to international law.

Bethlehem Bible College: Mennonite Church Canada has facilitated volunteer stints at BBC, whose roots have Mennonite connections (via Mennonite Central Committee) and whose current leaders include people who have trained in Anabaptist institutions.

Sabeel Liberation Theology Centre was started by Anglican priest Naim Ateek, following grassroots Bible studies in East Jerusalem. Mennonite Church Canada PIN has helped host Ateek’s speaking tour in Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia in 2018, and promotes Sabeel’s weekly “wave of prayer” and other resources.

MennoPIN. This network is older than Mennonite Church Canada PIN and comprised of members of Mennonite Church USA. Unlike MC Canada PIN, it is independent from the denomination. It offers an informative monthly update on news and commentary on the situation in Palestine and Israel.

Kairos Palestine. The Kairos Palestine 2009 “Moment of Truth” statement and call for action from the leaders of the various Christian churches of the Holy Land was a major stimulus for Mennonite Church Canada's 2016 resolution. Kairos’s annual Easter and Christmas “alerts” provide excellent resources for thought, prayer and action.
