Historical note

The Hope Mennonite congregation in Winnnipeg, Manitoba was an outgrowth of the Bethel Mennonite congregation. They began meeting in 1987 and were officially founded in 1988 with 58 charter members. Initially they met in rented facilities. Since 1993 they have shared a facility with Young United Church known as the Crossways in Common. In 2000 the membership stood at 32. The leaders of the congregation were: Bill Block (1990-1996, 2000), Barry Heinrichs (1997-1998), Ed Franz (1999), Dori Zerbe Cornelsen (2001- ).

Scope and content note

The fonds consists of a guide book produced in 1996 which describes the history and organizational structure of the congregation, and it's members' faith stories at the time.
