  Historical note

  The Conference of Mennonites in Canada through the general board ran its own ministry to the Umsiedler (culturally German soviet citizens who returned to Germany from the 1950s, accelerating in the 1970s). Interest in the ministry began with a 1975 resolution to examine the subject, funding began in 1978 and in 1984 the Umsiedler/Kirchliche Ministries Committee appears in the CMC Yearbook. In 1986 it was renamed European Ministries and in 1994 it merged into the Ministries Commission.

  Scope and content note

  This sub series contains records and correspondence with Arbeitsgeminschaft zur geistlichen Unterstützung in Mennonitegemeinden (AGUM) in addition to European ministries minutes, reports, memos and correspondence.
